~ "Everything had begun when Botabotas met with Chicken Hairdo. Both of them had their own bands (Botabotas - "Dragon Metal", Chicken Hairdo - "Metal John"), but together they joined forces & formed a new band "A.J. Brothers". It is this band actually that later renamed after "THORYBOS" & become the Ultimate band we all know. As "A.J. Brothers" they had 3 releases: "Ourga" (1990), "Alan Dalon" (1991) & "The Chronicles Of Alan Dalon & Other Stories" (1992). These 3 albums were later rereleased as "THORYBOS" albums in 1993. The name "THORYBOS" was given by the 3rd member of the band, Kartman. Although Kartman's first appearance was in "Thorybos 999" album. Ever since they go stronger & stronger & they surpass themselves with every album they release." ~

Thorybos (ŦĦÒŖŸBÕŠ/Ŧђòŗÿbõš) [in Greek: Θορυβος = noise], is a Greek band from Sourdia (Kozani), Greece. Formed in 1990, the group is well known for its noisy & boisterous sound, based on noise music & for the nicknames that everyone who is associated with the band must have. The band has many influences, as they say, they are inspired by every noise in the universe. Their style is a mixture of all kinds of noise music (Metal with noisy, boisterous, epic, thrash, black, death, heavy, classical & other influences, with a big sense of parody some times), rock, classical music, traditional music, etc.

Their music is farraginous, often heterogeneous and scrappy, with deliberate arrhythmic and atonal parts, using deviant rhythmic patterns and various music scales, along with ancient long forgotten sacred music geometric hyperfiber coordination tunes, possessing deep knowledge of cymatics and their frequency purpose to human aura, noesis and the universe as a whole. A straight channel connection with the akashic records. Some can describe it as "Avant-Garde", but the term "Noise Music" perfectly describes their style.

Their song titles & lyrics are often based on animals, everyday acts of life, fantasy & mythological topics, etc, often in forgotten ancient dialects and mystic tongues. Fans like to call them "The Ultimate Noise Band" or "The Ultimate Noise Band Of The Universe", a title that the band often uses. They have 19 albums so far. They also hold the world record for the longest noise album ever released, with over 52 songs & a total running time that surpasses 130 minutes.

 

Although the band has never been a mainstream commercial success, they maintain a strong cult following. They are extremely popular in the underground noise scene in Japan, Indonesia and South America. Dedicated fans are known and referred to by the band as "Noise Troopers", "Warriors of Noise", etc.

 

 

The "A.J. Brothers" era (1990 - 1992)

 

Everything had begun when Botabotas met with Chicken Hairdo. The first steps of "Thorybos" (1992-1994)

 

The name "THORYBOS" was given by the 3rd member of the band, Kartman. Although Kartman's first appearance was in "Thorybos 999" album in 1999. The moment they changed their name to "Thorybos", they rereleased under the new name the three albums they previously released as "A.J. Brothers" ("Ourga", "Alan Dalon", "The Chronicles Of Alan Dalon & Other Stories").

 

 

"Vulgon E Konclar Ti Re 'An" (1994-1995)

 

At that time, Botabotas & Chicken Hairdo were ready to enter the studio to record a new album. In early 1994 they released the boisterous album "Vulgon E Konclar Ti Re 'An". Using their unique noisy skills & featuring lyrics with forgotten ancient dialects, this album soon after its release, became a legend. Remarkable songs from this album, "The Ancient Storm Of The Wicked", & "The Ancient Fucker", remained at the top 5 of the charts of the "World Of Noise Music" for months.

 

 

"From Horses To Infinite" (1995-1999)

 

By 1995, the band formed their own record label by the name of "True Noise Music" & their own sponsor company "Shit Productions". With this momentum nothing could stop them to enter their studio again to record their 5th album "From Horses To Infinite". "Horses were always a success" stated Chicken Hairdo. With songs like "Star Shining" & "Night Calling" this album reached the noise music Top 10 soon enough. Although this was a big success for the band, bad news were inevitable. Serious reasons the band never referred to, caused them to pause their actions for the next 4 years.

 

 

The big return. "Thorybos 999" (1999-2000)

 

Year 1999 has been a rejuvenation year for the band as Kartman finally joined the band. Unfortunatelly Chicken Hairdo still could not follow the band. Together Botabotas & Kartman recorded a new instrumental album, featuring a guest member, guitarist Burned Robin Hood. The album "Thorybos 999" was a dark aproach of noise music, featuring trance & rave elements. Remarkable moments of the album, amongst others, are the songs, "Chaos Wind", "Another Dimension" & "The Petrified Ruined Rose".

 

 

"The Dawn Of Chickens & The Dusk Of Horses" (2000-2002)

 

Kartman announced that he must pause his services in the band for sometime. Through many hardships, Botabotas alone decided that the band should continue its course with or without the rest members. So he entered the studio alone to record a new double album. A double album to celebrate the first 10 years of the band. There had been plenty material of Chicken Hairdo so he used this too. The result, the double album "The Dawn Of Chickens & The Dusk Of Horses", which was later released as two different albums ("The Dawn Of Chickens" & "The Dusk Of Horses") with cheaper price.

 

 

"The Long Lost Ancient Unholy Rhymes" (2002-2003)

 

The hardships are finally over & the band now has all three members. To celebrate the event the band recorded "The Long Lost Ancient Unholy Rhymes", an album featuring guest members Panick & Alien, and countless new elements, that curved a bigger road to success for the band.

 

 

"Tales From Horses And Such" (2003-2004)

 

Thorybos career was at its highest point by the year 2004. After a long summer tour & many live events, they hit the studio again for their new album, "Tales From Horses And Such". "Horses were never a bigger success" quoted Chicken Hairdo. Again the band featured new guest members, such as, Monkeyman, Koimisos & Eridadoros. In this album was featured their Europe cover song "Ton Gamisan Xelwnes", which was recorded in 2000. This song featured the music from Europe's "The Final Countdown", with new lyrics.

 

 

"The Loneliness Of The Boar" (2004-2007)

 

The hardships inevitably returned. Kartman & Chicken Hairdo, again paused their services. Botabotas was once again left alone. He released the Ep, "The Loneliness Of The Boar" as a token of his loneliness. This Ep featured previously unreleased songs, together with some new. These was the darkest years of the band. A huge gap after 17 years of success. The future of the band was unknown.

 

 

"Condemned Recreations" (2007-2009)

 

In the year 2007 the three members were back together & strong. To celebrate this event they decided to record a cover album, in Thorybos style. All the songs of this album were covers of other artist's songs with new lyrics and the familiar boister of Thorybos. The result was the remarkable album, "Condemned Recreations". This album marked a new concept idea for their future albums.

 

 

"Infiltrations & Theories" (2009-2010)

 

A bonus album was to be released in 2008, but due to the big Condemned Tour was finally released in 2009. This album was a solo project of botabotas under the name of Thorybos, an instrumental project, that combined boisterous & classical elements, played entirely on the piano. The result was a magical & dark album with a modern breeze, whilst keeping the essense of noise.

 

 

"Fantasy Of The Faun - Raping The Little Goat" (2010-2011)

 

The band was celebrating 20 years of existence & was planning to record a new double concept album. But due to some arguements, the recording was postponed. Then, straight from the "Sheepcoat" (Botabota's home studio), Botabotas once more took upon his self the band, recording all alone a new album that featured the most boisterous songs the band had ever seen. With a new black metal esthetic, he managed to bind the early sound of Thorybos together with the new one. This "union" brought to the world the remarkable album, "Fantasy Of The Faun - Raping The Little Goat", with the title track smashing in number one of all the noise music Top 10, for months.

 

 

"ĦĬƉĖŌȖŠ ĦΫɃŖƗƉ ÅɃÕṀƗŇÅŦİŎŇŠ" (2011-2012)

 

Their previous success was of course the precursor of their next album, the long awaited 20th Anniversary double concept album. Chicken Hairdo was back. "Hideous Hybrid Abominations" was released in 4th Octomber 2011 & it is till rejoicing a grand success. This album granded Thorybos name on the World Noise Music Records, as it is the longest noise album ever released, with over 52 songs & a total running time that surpasses 130 minutes. With over 2 hours of noise, their longest in length of time album, has lots of amazing songs in every THORYBOS style, combined with new & fresh elements. Each song, a remarkable grand success. Introducing new member Lizzard Locust, for the first time in the band's history, they release an album like that with the most epic, noisy, boisterous, powerful & majestic sound. Featuring new instruments, many guests & lots of surprises.

 

 

"Hordes Of Abominations" (2012-2013)

 

An amazingly boisterous album, following the concept of its precursor. Chicken Hairdo was unable to record due to other serious rensponsibilities, but the material was ready so the album should be recorded. Featuring guest members Lizzard Locust & Laserfox, Botabotas once again managed to create perfectly a boisterous album, with many oriental influences, that can easily blow your mind from the first second. Including huge epic songs like, "Journey To The Seven Spheres Of Wisdom", Throughout The Seas Of Bahamut, "Hordes Of Abominations", "A Tyrant Stands Apart At The Sacred Altar", etc, this album, proudly, is just another jewel in the crown of noise that's gracing the skull of Thorybos.

 

 

"MMXII. Judicium. Timor. Mors Et Ignis" (2012-2013)

 

An overproduction concept album, the very first "Chaotic Noise Opera", wrote a new era in THORYBOS history & the history of Noise itself! Double CD album, 2 Acts, 33 tracks, over two hours of boisterous chaotic noise experience! Botabotas described it as "A Voyage To An Other Dimension In II Acts"! Another “record” for them, as they released two albums in the same year! This album was released on 21 December 2012, the end of days & it was immediately sold out! A grand concept album of epic proportions about the End of the world that happened in an other Dimension! A mixture of every brilliant noise THORYBOS have ever produced! Blending chaotic tunes, boisterous & powerful riffs, extreme, majestic & noisy vocals & hundrends & hundrends of surprises! Every song, better than the other, gives you countless of "Chicken Skin" moments! Definately the CROWN & THE THRONE of THORYBOS, so far!

All 3 of them worked & gave the best out of them, to give the perfect result!

"Hail! To The Noise" & "ATLAS – TITANAS" (2013-2016)

 

After a long separation, Botabotas started writing more ideas alone at first and then with Bully Titan. Botabotas started writing an Hymn song, dedicated to all the hardcore fans from all over the Universe. The result was amazing, "Hail! To The Noise"! A new Grand Epic Hymn to Noise! For the first time the lyrics were in five different languages: English, German, Italian, French & Ancient Greek! An anthem to honor all the fans that speak all of these languages! Filled thrilling riffs & bombastic drumming! This song was released immediately as a CD-Single, and was instantly sold out! Then Botabotas met with Bully Titan. They brought forth a new song called "Atlas-Titanas", that shook the world from its very foundations! This song afterwards was to become a mini Album, featuring new and old songs that were never released.

"THORYBOS" (2016-present)

Botabotas and Bully Titan were searching for new members without a result...

Then out of nowhere, new members came along the way!

Finos Foufis came on board after a magnificent two-part new-member casting and audition, bringing along his friend Goat-Man, then Froggy, an old friend of the band, decided to collaborate only if he could bring along with him the mighty guitarist Baptizer! Thus it happened! And they rode alltogether supreme!

Then, Randy Rotten saw the result was good and he liked it, he came back and contributed hugely with great boister.

And finally after a long hiatus the magnificent Chicken Hairdo returned triumphantly and brought the absolute perfection!

Little Vani has heard the call and all together formed a bond so strong that none can brake without blasting himself to pieces.

The result was going to be the best THORYBOS album in the history. Counting nine members in total, they forged them selves a bigger Throne in higher realms in the Universe of Pure Chaotic Noise! A complete new definition of Noise music that changed the whole perception of their very existence! There was no other name for this album than to name it with the name of the band! Botabotas quoted: "Yes, this is the homonymous album everybody was waiting for, we worked very hard and we are proud that we brought a result that absolutely and perfectly defines the name of the band, giving a new meaning to the words "Noise" and "Boisterous"!"

The album reception was epic! It was an instant success and was sold out from the very first days.

The Future

 

Thorybos right now are touring & composing ideas for their next album. Some of the new songs will be released on the internet as a gift for their fans. "It will definately surpass everything we ever released" claims Botabotas.
